Anxiety & panic
Racing thoughts, constant worry, that tight-chest dread. We calm the nervous system and loosen anxiety's grip on your days.
One-to-one therapy for anxiety, trauma, grief and low mood — warm, confidential and free of jargon. We move at your pace, together.
What's been weighing on you lately?
No referral needed. I reply to every message personally, usually within a working day.
Therapy that meets you where you are — gentle, collaborative, and grounded in what the evidence shows actually helps.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all. Some weeks we'll work with practical tools for the here and now; others we'll gently make sense of the past. There's no pressure to have the right words, and nothing you say will surprise or unsettle me. My job is to help you feel safe enough to be honest — with me, and with yourself.
You're a person, not a diagnosis. We talk like humans — kindly, and at your pace.
Drawing on CBT, EMDR and ACT — practical skills you can carry into daily life.
You set the goals and the pace. We review together, and there are no long contracts.
Most people arrive carrying more than one of these. Wherever you're starting from, you don't have to make sense of it alone.
Racing thoughts, constant worry, that tight-chest dread. We calm the nervous system and loosen anxiety's grip on your days.
When the past keeps intruding on the present. Using EMDR and gentle pacing, we help difficult memories finally settle.
There's no timeline for loss. A steady place to hold your grief, honour who or what is gone, and slowly find your footing.
When everything feels flat, heavy or pointless. Small, kind steps to reconnect with energy, meaning and yourself.
Recurring conflict, disconnection, or old patterns you keep repeating. Understand them, and choose something different.
Running on empty and can't switch off. We rebuild boundaries, rest and a pace of life that's actually sustainable.

I've spent the last fifteen years sitting with people through some of the hardest chapters of their lives — and watching them come out the other side more steady, more themselves. Before opening Stillpoint, I worked in the NHS across adult mental health and a specialist trauma service.
My style is calm, honest and warm. I'll listen closely, offer real perspective when it helps, and never leave you feeling analysed from a distance. Outside the therapy room you'll usually find me walking the Pentlands or up to my elbows in the garden.
Reaching out is often the hardest part. Here's exactly what happens from your first message — no surprises, no pressure.
We talk briefly by phone or video so you can ask questions and get a feel for whether we're a good fit. No commitment.
A gentle, unhurried hour to share what's brought you here. Together we shape a sense of where you'd like to get to.
Usually weekly, same day and time, 50 minutes each — in the Stockbridge room or securely online, whichever suits.
Every six to eight weeks we check what's working. You're always free to pause, slow down or wrap up when you're ready.
No joining fees, no long contracts, no hidden extras. You pay per session and can stop whenever you choose.
One-to-one sessions for adults, in person or online.
A longer session to give both of you room to be heard.
A few reduced-rate spaces for students & those on lower incomes.
"I put off calling for two years. Within a few sessions I finally understood my anxiety instead of fearing it. I still use the tools Marianne gave me, every single week."
"After losing my dad I felt completely unmoored. Marianne never rushed me. She just made space, week after week, until I could breathe again."
